Kent's Brands Hatch circuit is set for another
stellar season of motorsport on two and four wheels, with a
packed calendar of events lined up this year. This includes
flagship international meetings, the best that top-class British
motorsport has to offer, special themed festivals, and countless
club-level car and bike events.
The best of British
The backbone of the Fawkham circuit's season will comprise all of
the UK's leading national championships, including two dates each
for the Bennetts British Superbike Championship (BSB) and Kwik Fit
British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). Bennetts BSB's fixture on
21-23 July promises to be a summer showpiece, with thousands of
fans camping out for the weekend as the world's finest domestic
motorcycle racing series takes to the Grand Prix circuit for a
triple-header of races.
The full GP loop will also host the Bennetts BSB season finale on
13-15 October, just a week after the BTCC champion is crowned
following three races on the same layout (7/8 October). This year's
BTCC chargers will also race on the more compact Indy circuit, with
an early season clash on 6/7 May.
Super-fast automotive exotics
Leading talent from the global stage will descend upon Brands
Hatch when GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS returns for a
mouth-watering weekend of sumptuous supercar action on 13/14 May.
MotoGP megastar Valentino Rossi will be amongst the international
cast of hotshot drivers for a second year running, this time at the
wheel of a BMW M4 GT3 emblazoned with his trademark #46.
Further top-flight action for machinery from prestige
manufacturers like Aston Martin, Porsche and McLaren will come from
the Intelligent Money British GT Championship (9/10 September),
which will feature GT3 and GT4 cars fighting for class honours.
This weekend will also offer visitors an opportunity to glimpse the
next generation of aspiring F1 hopefuls in the GB3 Championship
partnered by the BRDC and its junior feeder series, GB4.
Fun for all the family
The heavyweights of British motorsport will enter the ring twice
in 2023, with two rounds of the British Truck Racing Championship.
Five-tonne race trucks will star at the season opener on Easter
Weekend (Sat 8/Sun 9 April) whilst the major events calendar will
wrap up with the bombastic Trucks and Fireworks spectacular on
Sunday 5 November.
American SpeedFest 10 meanwhile will top the summer festival
season bill with two days of supercharged action headlined by
NASCAR racing on 17/18 June. The super-sized event will celebrate
everything that has been great about SpeedFest since it debuted ten
years ago, with car displays and other family fun adding to
the atmosphere.
Other returning favourites in 2023 include the popular Mini
Festival (6 August), Festival Italia (13 August) and Ford Power
Live (17 September). Tunerest South (11 June) and Go Japan (24
September) are back too, bringing high-powered on and off circuit
action headlined by Time Attack UK and Drift Pro UK.
New for 2023!
Exciting new additions to the calendar include Super Touring Power
(1/2 July), which will take spectators back to the '90s with a
celebration of one of the BTCC's most iconic eras. Other new
additions include a Great British race-off at Brands Britainnia on
4 June, whilst the Festival of Porsche makes a comeback for the
first time since 2021 on 3 September.
A blast from the past
There will be plenty of on-circuit nostalgia this year too, with
two premier historic showpieces. The Masters Historic Festival on
27/28 May will transport fans back to a golden era of the sport
with retro F1 cars on the GP circuit, whilst the Legends of Brands
Hatch Superprix remains one of the Historic Sports Car Club's blue
ribband events.
A full season of grassroots competition
Beyond that, there is a full season of club racing to look forward
to, starting from the traditional early season motorcycle events
organized by the British Motorcycle Racing Club (11/12 March) and
NG Road Racing (25/26 March). Equipe Classic Racing will then host
the first four-wheeled fixture of the year on 1/2 April ahead of
the British Truck Racing curtain raiser.
Other club racing highlights will include GT Cup's outing on the
GP circuit on 29/30 April, Ferrari Challenge UK's weekend
incorporating both layouts on 23-25 June and the No Limits Club
Bike Championship event on the longer course on 29/30 July - the
only non BSB two-wheeled event on the full circuit. The legendary
Formula Ford Festival retains its traditional autumn slot on 21/22
October.
Most of the of the UK's leading car racing organisers will visit
in 2023, including the British Racing and Sports Car Club (BRSCC),
British Automobile Racing Club (BARC), MotorSport Vision Racing
(MSVR), the 750 Motor Club and the Classic Sports Car Club
(CSCC).
Great value and free entry for kids
Under-13s always go free to events at Brands Hatch, making this a
great value day out for all the family. Further reductions are
available for 13-15-year-olds and you can always save a little
extra by purchasing in advance - don't leave it until the last
minute. On top of that, parking is free in all of the primary
public car parks so there is no hidden additional cost. Adult
advance tickets for race events start from just £15!
Season passes still available
If you like the look of this year's line-up, you can secure access
to a full calendar's worth of events with a season pass. Brands
Hatch season passes grant access to all events at the Kent circuit,
including all headline fixtures for cars and motorcycles. Two and
four-wheel passes are also available for those hoping to attend
events for their preferred discipline at Donington Park, Oulton
Park, Snetterton and Cadwell Park in addition to Brands
Hatch.
Making motorsport more accessible
The Brands Hatch team is always looking at ways to improve the
customer experience. As part of this, the fully accessible Mobiloo
toilet will be in attendance at many of the venue's biggest events
in 2023, including all Bennetts BSB and BTCC rounds, plus American
SpeedFest 10, Trucks and Fireworks and GT World Challenge. A
dedicated shuttle bus service will run an expanded service this
year too, with an increased number of events served from Swanley
railway station. Advance travel can be booked when purchasing race
event tickets.
