Hitech GP's Luke Browning held off a race long challenge from Fortec Motorsport's Joel Granfors to claim his third win of the season in the second race of the weekend at Snetterton this morning.

Browning started from pole and resisted a first corner move from the Swede. But he was never able to break the tow, with Granfors constantly in his wheel tracks and challenging on several occasions at Riches and Wilson, even clipping the back of the Hitech driver towards the end of the contest.

Entering the final lap the pair were separated by just under three tenths of a second, but Browning held firm to take the flag just two tenths clear.

The constant battle at the front allowed Carlin's Javier Sagrera and JHR's Matthew Rees to climb into the lead fight on a couple of occasions. Sagrera claimed his first podium of the season with third place after a great start that saw him climb from sixth on the grid.

Welshman Rees looked to challenge for the lead on the run to the first corner on lap one, but in doing so was delayed slightly, allowing the Spaniard to blast past. Like the battle for the lead, Rees challenged Sagrera for the entire race, but was unable to find a way past.

Tom Lebbon was fifth for Elite Motorsport at his local circuit, seven tenths of a second ahead of Arden's Alex Connor, with Roberto Faria (Carlin) and Connor's teammate Nico Christodoulou right behind in seventh and eighth.

Branden Oxley claimed ninth for Chris Dittmann Racing, just three tenths ahead of Douglas Motorsport's Max Esterson, who had Elite's John Bennett all over him too.

Race one winner Callum Voisin was the only retirement of the race. The British-Swiss driver ran fifth early on but spun into the barriers exiting Riches on the sixth lap.

The final race of the weekend at Snetterton is due to start at 13.45, with full live streaming coverage available once more on the official GB3 Championship website.
