Carlin has confirmed that John Bennett will join the team for
the 2023 GB3 Championship season.
The British racer took his maiden podium in the series at the last
round at Donington Park, off the back of a strong year which saw
his consistency rewarded with eighth in the final standings. The
19-year-old switches from Elite Motorsport to Carlin for the
upcoming season, marking only his second year of racing in
single-seaters.
Prior to racing in the GB3 Championship, Bennett enjoyed a
fantastic season competing in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge. A
brilliant showing of five race victories and ten podiums saw him
crowned the 2021 Vice Champion in only his second year of car
racing. Following his success, Bennett made the switch to single
seater racing in 2021.
Bennett took his experience of British racetracks from his Ginetta
racing and applied it well to his maiden season with GB3's Tatuus
MSV-022 chassis. Proving his consistency, Bennett was a frequent
top-five finisher and collected regular points to secure his
position of eighth in the standings. A podium at the final round at
Donington further highlighted his great form as the championship
concluded.
Bennett has already been on track with Carlin in a string of
post-2022 test days as he looks to prepare himself for the upcoming
season and get to know the team further. Visiting the factory, he
has also spent time on the Carlin simulator as he aims to build on
the solid foundations he set this year.
Bennett said: "I'm really excited to be joining Carlin for the
upcoming 2023 GB3 season, they are one of the most prestigious
teams in motorsport and their history of success within this
championship, and many others, is undeniable. My goal for next year
will be to win the championship - I am very confident that I will
have everything at my disposal to be able achieve this and I can't
wait to get racing again next year! In the meantime, we will be
undergoing a strong winter testing programme to ensure that we are
in the best possible position to hit the ground running at round
one."

- he has shown clear consistency and we have no doubt he can
continue this momentum into next season."
Bennett will continue pre-season testing with the team before the
2023 championship gets underway in April next year at Oulton Park
over the annual Easter Weekend opening round.
