Nikolas Taylor converted pole position into his ninth GB4 win of the year, as he led from lights to flag at Brands Hatch to regain the championship advantage.

Taylor rebuffed a race-long challenge from Kevin Mills Racing's Jarrod Waberski, while Elite's Jack Sherwood completed the podium in third.

Graham Brunton Racing's Chloe Grant claimed her best result of the year with fourth ahead of Jessica Edgar's Fortec, while title challenger Max Marzorati could only manage sixth with a hobbled car, finishing ahead of teammate Megan Gilkes. Tom Mills was the final classified finisher after a first lap drama.

Taylor held the lead on the first lap, while Waberski and KMR teammate Mills battled at Druids, with the pair making contact and damaging Mills' tyre, forcing him to pit at the end of the opening tour.

Marzorati held third early on, but it soon became clear there was an issue as his pace dropped off rapidly, falling behind Sherwood on lap two, Grant on lap three and Edgar on lap four.

Graham Brunton Racing's Logan Hannah, who had stalled on the grid, also found her way past, but spun out of the race exiting Westfield, handing Marzorati sixth place to at least minimise some of the damage, especially with main title rival Taylor winning.

Taylor's victory means he holds an 18-point lead in the championship standings, with the pair having been level on points heading into the contest. Just four races remain this year, including the reverse grid event at 17.30 this afternoon.
