Tom Lebbon converted pole position into victory in race two at Brands Hatch this morning, his third win of the year.

He finished just under a second clear of Hitech GP's championship challenger Luke Browning, who pulled off some punchy moves on the first lap to climb to second, while race one winner Matthew Rees was third after challenging for the lead on lap one. Browning applied big pressure in the final stages, but Lebbon kept his cool to lead every lap.

Granfors was firmly in the lap one mix too, but had to settle for fourth, and surrendered the championship lead to Browning as a result, with the British driver now 2.5 points clear at the top of the standings.

Arden's Alex Connor claimed fifth place ahead of Elite's John Bennett, who made a great start and looked set to challenge the podium runners in the first moments of the race.

Browning's teammate Bryce Aron was seventh ahead of Carlin duo Javier Sagrera and Roberto Faria, with Arden's Nico Christodoulou completing the top-10.

At the start, Lebbon led the field away, but was challenged by Rees at Druids. Behind, the battle between the championship leaders was intense as Granfors and Browning went wheel to wheel through Druids, giving Browning the inside line for Graham Hill Bend and third place.

As they battled, they caught Rees, going three wide at Surtees and giving Browning second place down Pilgrims Drop, with Granfors follwoing through. Rees fought back at Sheene though, and crucially for the championship race, demoted Granfors two places behind Browning.

Lebbon built a decent lead at the end of the first lap, but the rest of the race was about whether Browning could get close enough to force a move, at one point being just six tenths of a second behind, but opted to play it safe and take a marginal championship lead with just four races remaining.

The final GB3 race of the weekend is due to commence at 15.45.
