The Donington Historic Festival (DHF) offers a wealth of on and off-track entertainment for spectators, with two days simply jam-packed with world-class race action, track displays and parades, an open-access paddock and pitlane walks, a trade village, plus the presence of hundreds of cherished classic cars in displays staged by dozens of car clubs. The event attracts a calibre of drivers that matches the calibre of cars, and past and present-day BTCC and Le Mans names are often seen on the entry lists.
This family-friendly event at a circuit renowned for unrivalled spectator viewing is also a great way to introduce the younger generation to the joys of historic motorsport - with the added advantage that you can take it all in on the Saturday and Sunday and still have the Bank Holiday Monday to relax at home!
The racing line-up for DHF 2023 promises spectacular track action. Touring Car fanatics will be over the moon with what's likely to be a massive turnout from the combined Historic Touring Car Challenge, Tony Dron Trophy, Sixties Touring Car Challenge and U2TC for under two-litre Touring Cars grid. The sight and sound of this grid hurtling towards Redgate will be unforgettable!
Adding to the tin-top fun are races for the HRDC Jack Sears Trophy (for 1958-1966 Touring Cars), the HRDC Gerry Marshall Trophy (for pre-83 Group 1 and 1½ Touring Cars) and a combined race for HRDC Dunlop Allstars (for pre-'66 Sports, GT and Touring Cars) and HRDC Classic Alfa Challenge (for 750-116 Alfa Romeos) - all of which promise to be tremendously enjoyable.
GT and sportscar fans will not feel left out - DHF 2023 will showcase some of the most beautiful and iconic examples. The 'Mad Jack' for Pre-War Sports Cars sees sports cars built before 1941 - and some approaching 100 years old - battle it out round Donington Park, in a wonderful reminder of the circuit's pre-War racing past. The combined grid for the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy for pre-56 sportscars and Stirling Moss Trophy for pre-61 sports racers brings together a truly stunning collection of machines, while the epic, three-hour Royal Automobile Club Pall Mall Cup brings the best of both worlds, featuring GT, Sports Racing and Touring Cars built before 1966 in a feast of glamour, pace and action.
The Jaguar Classic Challenge race will once again see a packed
grid of 'big cats' prowling their way round the circuit, while -
new for DHF - there will also be action from the 'prancing horses'
of the Superformance Ferrari Club Classic series, which will stage
no less than three Ferrari-only races at the event.
Earlybird ticket prices start at just £22 for a one-day
adult entry, with discounts for teens aged 13-15. Under 13s
are admitted free. For further information and tickets please click here.
