James Cottingham and Lewis Williamson will start tomorrow's Intelligent Money British GT Championship race at Brands Hatch from pole position after topping the combined times in this afternoon's split qualifying session on the Grand Prix circuit.

Cottingham laid the foundations for the joint performance in the opening qualifying period for Am drivers with a lap of 1m24.580s which was enough to put the 2 Seas Motorsport Mercedes-AMG top of the leaderboard. Williamson then missed out on emulating his co-driver by just 0.013s in the Pro section of qualifying but their combined times were enough to put them almost four tenths of a second clear of the next driver pairing.

McLaren machinery displayed threatening pace throughout practice earlier in the day, topping both earlier sessions, and that form continued into qualifying with Morgan Tillbrook and Marcus Clutton at the wheel. Tillbrook was second only to Cottingham in the initial mini session, missing out on first by just 0.091s before Clutton's drive to fourth was enough to cement second on the grid.

Alex Malykhin was fifth quickest in the first part of qualifying, but a session topping effort from his driving partner James Dorlin was enough to ensure the Redline Racing Lamborghini completed the top three. Adam Balon and Sandy Mitchell will start fourth in their Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo, whilst championship leader Ian Loggie will complete the top-five alongside Callum Macleod in a RAM Racing Mercedes-AMG.

In the GT4 class, it was an impressive display from Sennan Fielding and Richard Williams which sealed pole position. The Steller Motorsport Audi R8 was completed two laps of the GP circuit in 3m03.104s on combined times to lead the class. Jamie Day and Josh Miller will join them on the front row of the GT4 grid, with Tom Edgar and Jordan Collard rounding out the top three.
