Oulton Park and Sporting Bears raise funds for the Joshua Tree

Thursday, May 26 2022

Cheshire's Oulton Park race circuit along with Sporting Bears have made a special donation of £5370 to the locally-based The Joshua Tree organisation, a children's cancer charity, following a fundraiser in April. The 'Oulton Park Charity Day' ran on Easter Sunday with a range of activities to raise money.

This included passenger rides in special classic and sports cars, organised by Sporting Bears. These saw members of the public treated to laps of the famous circuit, with proceeds going to the fundraising pot. The Sporting Bears activities were accompanied by a selection of off-road and rally passenger experiences organised by the circuit.

In addition to all that the circuit arranged special activities for children on the traditional 'day off' in the middle of the circuit's annual British GT Championship event. All paid-for activities on the day raised money for The Joshua Tree.

The cheque was delivered earlier this week to the Joshua Tree offices near Hartford, Cheshire by Oulton Park Circuit Manager Jon Rush.

Jon Rush said: "I was delighted to deliver this donation to The Joshua Tree, a charity which does fantastic work in the local area. We had a hugely positive response to the fundraising event when it was first announced, and it was heart-warming to see just how many Oulton Park customers were keen to join in and contribute towards a worthy cause.

"I'd like to extend my sincerest thanks to everybody who took part in the day, and especially to Sporting Bears whose passenger rides contributed significantly to the total raised. I'd like to wish the best to everyone at The Joshua Tree as they continue their extraordinary work, and we're all looking forward to seeing them at the circuit again soon."
