Brabham to make racing return at Brands Hatch this November

Thursday, August 29 2019

The stunning Brabham BT62 will make its racing debut at Brands Hatch in this November's Britcar 'Into the Night' race, the very venue at which Jack Brabham won the British Grand Prix in 1966.

The BT62 will make its racing return at the Kent circuit on 9/10 November following the announcement of a new partnership between Brabham Automotive and Goodyear, which will see the two organisations collaborate across racing and road car developments.

This reignites a winning partnership which first blossomed in 1965, and resulted in 26 F1 Grand Prix victories. Brabham won the 1966 World Championship behind the wheel of a Goodyear shod Brabham-Repco BT19, and his acheivement in winning the title in a car bearing his own names remains unparalleled.

The new BT62 is an unrestricted track car that is limited to a production run of just 70 vehicles. The special machine has already shattered GT3 lap records across the globe ahead of its highly anticipated race debut at Brands Hatch.

David Brabham, son of Sir Jack Brabham and Director of Brabham Automotive said. "Goodyear and Brabham's combined successes in motorsport are iconic. The partnership historically brought an incredible amount of success in Formula 1 and Endurance Racing and we look to continue this winning legacy through Brabham Automotive, the BT62 and future car variants. The continued commitment shown by Goodyear globally in motorsport means it is perfect timing for the two marques to join forces as we continue our road to Le Mans."

The Britcar 'Into the Night' race is a traditional end of season event with a flavour of Le Mans as cars run into the darkness. Tickets are just £12 in advance with FREE entry for under-13s. For more information, please call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
