Three weeks to the 2018 Bennetts BSB Showdown finale

Friday, September 21 2018

The countdown is on… Just three weeks until the 2018 Bennetts British Superbike Championship reaches its climax with a triple-header on the iconic Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit on 12-14 October.

The opening round of the Showdown earlier this month saw Jake Dixon break the lap record and pick up a double win at Oulton Park, closing the gap on leader Leon Haslam to 31 points. But there are still plenty of twists and turns to come - and as last year proved, anything can happen before the final flag falls on the 2018 season.

Haslam looked set to lift the 2017 trophy with a 32-point lead going into the final round. But a high-speed crash in the final race put paid to his championship dream and Shane 'Shakey' Byrne lifted the title for a sixth time.

With Byrne side-lined for much of the 2018 season through an injury sustained in testing, Haslam has been steadily adding to his points tally and has graced the podium in every round.  But with Dixon on top form and other Showdown contenders snapping at his heels, he knows it's far from a done deal.

The championship visits Assen on 28-30 September before the final round at Brands Hatch, which features one headline Bennetts BSB race on Saturday and two on Sunday plus a fantastic support line-up featuring Pirelli National Superstock 600/1000 and Dickies British Supersport. There's plenty of off-track entertainment too with live music in the Kentagon restaurant on Saturday night and kids' activities including mini diggers and face painting.

Discounted adult weekend tickets are £38 online with reductions for teens (12-15) and kids under 13 are free. For more details and to book click here.
