Astons on pole for British GT rounds at Snetterton

Saturday, May 26 2018

TF Sport Aston Martin pairing Mark Farmer and Nicki Thiim will start both of tomorrow's British GT races at Snetterton from pole position, following today's (Saturday) qualifying session at the Norfolk circuit.

In the GT3 AM session, which decides pole for race one, Mark Farmer set the fastest time by the slenderest of margins, just 0.048s over the Jetstream Motorsport Aston Martin of Graham Davidson, while the Lamborghini Huracan of Jon Minshaw was just 0.025s further back in third.

It wasn't quite as close in the PRO session, with Thiim securing pole for race two by almost half a second from the Minshaw/Phil Keen Lamborghini, with the Davidson/Maxime Martin Aston Martin third for race two.

With qualifying proving especially close in race one, two very competitive races for Britain's top GT series are in order tomorrow, with race one starting at 11am, followed by the second contest at 15.30.

Meanwhile, in the co-headlining BRDC British F3 Championship, Carlin driver Nicolai Kjaergaard claimed his second win of the season in the opening race of the weekend for the series, putting him level on points with rival Linus Lundqvist, who finished third. Two more F3 contests will come tomorrow, starting at 10.15 and 14.40.

In addition, there's extra racing from the Ginetta G40 Cup, Volkswagen Racing Cup, MINI Challenge and Northern Saloon & Sports Car Championship to look forward to, with 10 races in total.

Tickets are available on the gate tomorrow, priced at £25 with free admission for children aged 12 and under, and special rates for teenagers aged 13-15 and for senior citizens aged 65 and above. For more information, click here
