Get set for for Mega May with MSV!

Thursday, April 20 2017

MSV is set for Mega May across all four of its circuits - Brands Hatch, Oulton Park, Snetterton, and Cadwell Park - with major events across the board, including all of the UK's top-level domestic championships, international meetings, and themed events and festivals, to offer a great range of family days out across the country.

MCE British Superbike Championship - Oulton Park (29 April - 1 May)

Cheshire's Oulton Park hosts the biggest names in UK motorcycle racing on May Day Bank Holiday Weekend, with two races from the MCE British Superbike Championship (MCE BSB) - the biggest and best domestic series of its kind on the planet.

MCE BSB's grid runs rich with talent this season, and includes household names such as Shane 'Shakey' Byrne, the five-time reigning champion and most successful rider in the championship's history. Others include Leon Haslam, for so long the bridesmaid but never the bride, former World Champion Sylvain Guintoli, and a host of young talents such as Luke Mossey, who is currently riding on the crest of a wave following a sensational double win at Brands Hatch.

These two-wheeled heroes will contest two races on Bank Holiday Monday, and there are plenty of support races too - don't miss it!

Modified Live - Cadwell Park (1 May)

The UK's circuit-based tuned car show season kicks off with Modified Live at Lincolnshire's Cadwell Park on May Day, a full day of non-stop, petrol-fuelled adrenaline.

On-track action will be headlined by Time Attack, the ultimate test of a car's performance, with competitors battling tooth and nail to set the fastest time possible in a wide range of production-based track specials. These machines feature bespoke modifications, including complex aerodynamic configurations and really have to be seen to be believed!

Non-racing activities will be prevalent too, including competitions, displays and demonstrations.

Blancpain GT Series - Brands Hatch (6-7 May)

The Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit will reverberate with the glorious tones of racing supercars this May with the Blancpain GT Series, Europe's flagship battleground for supercar competition. Here you will see the most mouth-watering machines from Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren and Bentley striving for honours in a high calibre duel on one of the world's finest circuits.

With two hour-long races, featuring driver changes, pit-stops, and rolling starts, you can expect plenty of intrigue as different strategies play out. Plus, there will be support action, high-speed hypercar demonstrations on track and vast supercar displays to entertain throughout the weekend too!

VW Budburg - Oulton Park (6-7 May)

Cheshire's scenic Oulton Park will host the inaugural VW Budburg next month, an all-new family-friendly camp out with a chilled atmosphere, live music, and on and off-track action with a distinct VW theme.

Following a busy, VW Fun Cup-headlined Saturday race programme, the event will transform fully into a family weekend, with fun and games, music, movies, and plenty of other lively attractions

Snetterton Mini Festival (13-14 May)

Snetterton will host its first Mini Festival on 13-14 May, with two packed days of adrenaline-fuelled action on and off the track to celebrate Britain's most popular small car.

Racing will be headlined by the MINI CHALLENGE for modern BMW-built cars, and there will be plenty of contests for the smaller, older machines too.

Mini Festival will be a complete celebration of all things Mini, with a superb racing line-up accompanied by a host of Mini-flavoured activities off the circuit too. This will include car club stands, a trade village, and much more!

British Touring Car Championship - Oulton Park (20-21 May)

The British Touring Car Championship returns to Oulton Park in May for its popular summer date, with three races, a wealth of big name drivers, and a full grid of race-prepared supercars.

There has never been a better time to enjoy the BTCC as series stalwarts and multiple champions Matt Neal, Jason Plato, Colin and Turkington face an onslaught of young racers such as Tom Ingram, Adam Morgan, and Aidan Moffat in their quest for further glory. Manufacturer interest is renewed too, with Vauxhall and BMW returning to the fold to squabble with Honda, MG, and Subaru.

In addition to the three BTCC races, there will be a massive support programme, crammed with exciting one-make races.

Masters Historic Festival - Brands Hatch (27-28 May)

The halcyon days of Grand Prix racing will return to Brands Hatch for one weekend only at the end of May, with two days of action headlined by the FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship. Star cars from manufacturers such as McLaren, Williams, and Lotus join in a celebration of the sport's greatest power unit - the Cosworth DFV - which turns 50 this year.

This event also includes FIA Masters Historic Sportscars, covering the early years of the famous Brands Hatch 500 and 1000km events. Plus there will be fondly-remembered GTs, saloons and single seaters from the past, all being driven as their creators intended.

British GT Championship and BRDC British F3 Championship - Snetterton (27-28 May)

Norfolk's Snetterton circuit plays host to the duel headlined British GT Championship and BRDC British F3 Championship package at the end of May with two days of bank holiday action.

British GT is as strong as ever, with massive entries comprising stunning machines from UK manufacturers Bentley, Aston Martin, and McLaren, as well as exotic thoroughbreds from Lamborghini and Ferrari. With multiple classes, and intriguing sprint-enduro races with pit stops and driver changes, there is plenty to keep an eye on.

BRDC British F3 is established as the UK's leading single-seater series and is an active proving ground for the next generation of racing stars.
