Stuart Oliver takes Truck Racing pole position at Brands Hatch

Stuart Oliver beat reigning British Truck Racing Champion Mat Summerfield to pole position at Brands Hatch today (Saturday), ahead of the opening rounds of the 2016 season.

Ten-time champion Oliver held an advantage of almost half a second over the four-time champion, with Oliver's team-mate Shane Brereton third in his new MAN rig. Former champion David Jenkins was fourth, whilst last year's title challenger Ryan Smith could only managed sixth place.

Local Group B champion Steve Powell was eighth in his first appearance with his new MAN truck in the top group, two places ahead of Michael Oliver, Stuart's son, who is making his championship debut this weekend.

Frans Smith claimed a comfortable pole position for Class B, ahead of Adam Bint and newcomer John Bowler. Rody Smit was next up, ahead of Ryan Colson and local runners Simon Cole and John Powell.
