Monday, August 29 2016

Leon Haslam fired himself to the top of the times in the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship warm up session at Cadwell Park, claiming the top spot with his final lap moving him 0.321s clear of Richard Cooper in second.

The session got underway with Danny Buchan setting the initial benchmark onboard the Tsingtao MSS Performance Kawasaki. He was pushed from the top by Jason O'Halloran as the Honda Racing rider then went ahead in the final eight minutes of the session.

In the final four minutes Cooper edged ahead and looked set to hold the position but with his last lap dash Haslam moved to the top. The final moments of the session saw Tommy Bridewell climb to fourth on the Bennetts Suzuki, pushing Lee Jackson back to fifth on the second Buildbase BMW.

Jake Dixon moved up to sixth on the Briggs Equipment BMW with Luke Mossey moving ahead of James Ellison on the second JG Speedfit Kawasaki. Peter Hickman and Shane 'Shakey' Byrne completed the top ten.
