Fighting Haslam ready to return to winning ways at Cadwell

Thursday, August 25 2016

Leon Haslam is ready to strike back at Cadwell Park this August Bank Holiday weekend (27/28/29) as the JG Speedfit Kawasaki rider bids to return to winning ways at the Lincolnshire circuit as he aims to close the Podium Points deficit at the top of the standings.

Haslam remains the lap record holder at Cadwell Park and holds an impressive tally of wins at arguably the toughest track on the calendar, scoring victories in 2005, 2006, 2007 and on his last visit in 2008 with a double so he will be keen for history to repeat itself.

The JG Speedfit Kawasaki team completed a successful two day test at the circuit ahead of the weekend and a bullish Haslam is ready to close the points advantage to Shane Byrne in the two races on Bank Holiday Monday.

Haslam said: "Cadwell is certainly a different track to what I've been used to the last few years, but it's one I love and after the test there last week I'm feeling really positive. Although we were on the podium, we had a few problems at Brands but last week at the test we were able to fix them as well as work through everything I wanted to try to make some big steps forward so I'm feeling confident.

"I still hold the lap record around Cadwell Park from almost ten years ago which is pretty cool and the last time I rode there I was able to get the double win so I'm looking forward to returning on the JG Speedfit Kawasaki and seeing if we can get back on the top step!"
