Chris Evans chooses Oulton Park for CarFest North

Monday, January 14 2013

Oulton Park will be hosting the 2013 CarFest North event, which will take place on 2-4 August, in aid of the BBC Children in Need charity.

CarFest was started in 2012 by Radio 2 DJ and renowned petrolhead Chris Evans as a festival celebrating cars, food and music. The first event, CarFest South, was held at 1979 F1 World Champion Jody Scheckter's Laverstoke Park farm, and nearly a million pounds was raised for Children in Need in total.

Oulton Park is the new location for this year's CarFest North, and provides the perfect venue to see some of the world's greatest cars at their best - at one of Europe's most beautiful racetracks. The Cheshire circuit, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2013, also offers a superb space to host live music, for visitors who want to dance along or relax in front of the arena, whilst enjoying a fun family weekend.

CarFest North, which is subject to licence, is expected to be one of the summer's must-see events, at the height of the festival season. Tickets are on sale from 8am Thursday (17 January), but are expected to sell-out quickly and fans should visit the official website at www.carfest.org for further details. Oulton Park and MSV season pass holders will need to purchase a ticket to attend this event.

MSV Chief Executive Jonathan Palmer said: "We are extremely excited to have been chosen as the venue for CarFest North.  The event allows us to show off our greatest features - a spectacular track and stunning scenery.  We are certain that at Oulton Park, CarFest North can be even better than last year and help to raise even more funds for BBC Children in Need."
