Lights, Camera, Action! American SpeedFest goes Hollywood

Friday, February 22 2013

The American SpeedFest will celebrate the glitz and glamour of Hollywood with a special collection of iconic TV and movie cars on display at the event held at Brands Hatch on Sunday 9 June.

Motion Picture Motors car club will be showcasing many stunning pieces of automotive movie history ranging from the "Starsky and Hutch" Ford Torino to the General Lee Dodge Charger made famous by the popular television series and film "Dukes of Hazzard".

The cars will be located around the venue for spectators to marvel at during the event as one of the various themed activities taking place. Cars such as the Mustang and Dodge Charger from Bullitt, starring Steve McQueen, the sleek black Pontiac Firebird which was the star of hit TV series "Knight Rider", the black and red GMC van that transported the 'soldiers of fortune' in "The A Team" and that famous "Back to the Future" Delorean will all be on display as a treat for the whole family to see.

Another special car returning to the scene of one of its many motorsport triumphs is the beautiful Porsche 917, the star of "Le Mans" featuring the legendary Steve McQueen. The Porsche, liveried in the iconic blue and orange Gulf colours, is arguably one of the most famous racing cars to hit the movie screen.

The American SpeedFest is a brand new event for the 2013 season at the Kent circuit which will celebrate all things American. The circuit will be transformed into a scene from Daytona, with the popular V8 monsters of the Euro Racecar NASCAR Touring Series headlining a superb line up of American-derived motorsport. There will also be a host of US themed events located around the circuit including stunning Monster Truck demonstrations, huge collections of classic American cars, barbecue competitions, live music and plenty of family oriented fun.
