Sunday, May 29 2011

The BRSCC Club Car Championships head to Cadwell Park on June 4-5 with a host of single-seater and tintop drivers all vying for the top step of the podium.

David Clark holds a slim lead in the overall BRSCC Porsche Championship and will be keen to extend his advantage over Porsche 924 series leader Alfred Piesinger. Clark, leader in the Porsche Boxter class, and Piesinger both tasted victory at the last round at Donington Park and will be eager to continue the trend at the Lincolnshire circuit.

The Ford XR Challenge is expected to provide close racing with a packed grid of Ford Fiestas and Ford Escorts doing battle. The series is split into three classes and all cars are run in accordance with Group N regulations. Class A features MK2 Fiesta XR2s, Class B comprises of Escort XR3is and this year Class C has been introduced for Ford Fiesta ST cars.

The competitive Scottish Mini Cooper Cup joins the packed race card with a grid of BMW Minis all challenging for valuable championship points. Vic Covey junior heads the Main Championship standings on 62 points, but he is closely followed by David Sleigh, who is just five points adrift. The Newcomers Cup and Ladies Cup are nicely poised as the championship reaches the halfway mark.
