Famous F1 Machinery thrills Brands Hatch crowds

Sunday, May 29 2011

A mouthwatering collection of famous Formula One cars have performed demonstration laps today at the Masters Historic Festival today (Sunday) on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit.

Five cars, including Damon Hill's 1996 championship-winning Williams Renault FW18 driven by Graham North took to the track during today's lunch break for a handful of demonstration laps.

Other cars on display are three Benetton's from 1990, 1992 and 1993, the latter both being formerly driven by F1 legend Michael Schumacher.

An ex-Nelson Piquet Lotus at the hands of Steve Griffiths also took to the track, while Ayrton Senna's Toleman from 1984 - his first ever F1 car - also thrilled the crowds.

There will be three further demonstrations from this multi-million pound collection throughout the rest of the weekend, including one further exhibition at 15.10 today. Tomorrow's displays will take place during the lunch break at 12.35, and at 15.40.

Tickets for the Masters Historic Festival at Brands Hatch are available on the gate for £21 on Sunday and Monday with free entry for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0843 453 9000 or click on the link below.
