Are you stuck for New Year Resolutions?

Friday, December 30 2011

With 2012 fast approaching, now's the time to set some resolutions. Plans to lose weight, give up smoking or change jobs are soon forgotten, so we've come up with an achievable - and fun - list for all motorsport fans!

Visit a new circuit

Many fans are used to watching the action from their local circuit. With a season's worth of racing that's no bad thing but unlike Football or Cricket, Motorsport is never the same at different venues. With different combinations of straights and corners, track width and elevation, one man can dominate at Brands Hatch yet be mired in the midfield at Snetterton. If you're based in the south, why not take a trip to Cadwell or Oulton Park and if the latter is your local, now's the time to try the panoramic views of the new 300 circuit in Norfolk.

Click here to see what's on at our circuits this year and keep an eye on the list as new events are being added weekly. Don't forget take a look at our two and four wheel season passes here that give you access to all our tracks.

Take part in a trackday

You've stood at Paddock Hill, Cascades, Coram and The Mountain watched them all attack the corners, but have you tried it for yourself? By taking your own vehicle on track you can really gain an extra insight into what the drivers and riders are thinking as they clip the apex. It's also great fun and a safe way to enjoy your car or bike, away from the dangers of the public road. Besides, how many Football fans get to play on the pitch at their favourite ground?

There's no need to worry about taking that first step either, from just £20 you can purchase a Club MSV taster voucher for 20 minutes on track - it could change your life! Click here to find out more.

Experience a PalmerSport day

You may love your cars, and may even have taken part in trackdays or driving experience events before. However, nothing can prepare you for a PalmerSport event, which is in a different league to anything you might have imagined. At PalmerSport, you will spend the day of a lifetime driving the world's finest cars at the limit.  And the memories will last forever as you'll even take home a USB stick containing onboard footage of every lap. Click here to find out more.

You're a trackday hero, you know every corner of every lap and you're overtaking more times than you've been passed. If so, you need to try Club MSV's How Fast, a trackday with a difference! Simply turn up with your car in the same condition they would be in for a trackday and start setting laptimes against the clock and your peers. Times are  then displayed on the How Fast leaderboard for all to see. If you're not quite what you thought you were then you can keep practicing your lines on trackdays. If you're better, then you need to take the next step...

Go racing

Everyone needs a life ambition; imagine how great it would be to tell your friends that you are a racing driver, even if it's just for one season! You could be sat on the grid, in front of the fans, lost in the intensity of competition, perhaps even spraying champagne on the podium. Your F1 or MotoGP dreams may be the stuff of fantasy but the world of motorsport really is accessible to all. Take a look at Club MSV's Racing School, ARDS Tests and Trackday Trophy through the Go Racing page on their website here and ACU bike tests here.
