RAF Falcons fly into Oulton Park

Thursday, May 27 2010

Oulton Park is accustomed to thrilling action on track, but the Tarporley circuit will host entertainment from the skies during the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship meeting next weekend (5/6 June) with a visit from the RAF Falcons.

In addition to more than 14 hours of racing from the BTCC and its support series, the RAF Falcons will provide the highlights in a packed programme of family entertainment away from the track.

The activities begin on Saturday with a spectacular parachute jump into the venue and an official salute at lunch time, before a patriotic flyover by a Battle of Britain Memorial Spitfire display.

The RAF Falcons will also play a vital role in beginning raceday proceedings on Sunday, as they will deliver the chequered flag to Oulton Park via another exciting parachute jump before track action begins at midday.

There will also be a breathtaking fly past by an F2 Typhoon fighter plane at 2.00pm on Sunday.

Simon Bonser, Oulton Park circuit manager, said: "The Oulton Park round of the British Touring Car Championship is probably the biggest on the BTCC calendar and we're always looking for new ways to make the event even more enjoyable for our spectators. We're delighted that the RAF Falcons will be entertaining us from the skies and their parachute displays and flyovers should really wow the crowds!"

The British Touring Car Championship at Oulton Park will also feature a fun fair, free children's face painting and a free pit lane walkabout on Sunday where fans can meet the BTCC drivers and collect their autographs.

Tickets for the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Oulton Park on 5/6 June are now on sale from £24 for adults, with free entry for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0870 950 9000 or click on the link below.
