Autosport Three Hour race revived this weekend

Sunday, May 30 2010

The Historic Sports Car Club visits Snetterton this weekend (5/6 June) for two days of classic car racing.

Headlining on Saturday is the popular revival of the Autosport Three Hour race for GT and Sports Cars conforming to Guards Trophy regulations.

A 36 car grid of historic machinery will contest the event, with prizes presented by veteran racer and guest of honour Peter Sutcliffe, who finished third in the 1959 race.

Each entry is permitted up to three drivers, with a compulsory double pit stop ensuring the race result will be open right until the end.

Two other mini endurance races of 40 minutes each for Historic Road Sports and 70s Roadsports will form the majority of the Saturday supporting package, whilst round one of the Historic Formula 2 and Formula 5000 championship for the Derek Bell Trophy will provide some vintage single seater action.

The action hots up on Sunday with double header races for the remaining HSCC Championships; Classic Formula 3, Classic Racing Cars, Historic Formula Junior, Historic Formula Ford, Historic Touring Cars and Historic Formula Ford 2000, whilst the Historic Formula 5000 and Formula 2 cars have their second race of the weekend.

Tickets for the Historic Sports Car Club at Snetterton on 5/6 June are available on the gate for £12 for adults, with free entry for children ages 12 and under. For more information call 0870 950 9000 or click on the link below.
