Club MSV Trackday Trophy stars at Autosport International

Monday, January 18 2010

The Club MSV Trackday Trophy is gathering impressive momentum, after many budding racers visited the Club MSV stand at the Autosport International show last week (14-17 January) to voice their interest in the series.

Club MSV is the in-house trackday division of MotorSport Vision, which runs hundreds of car and bike trackday events at Brands Hatch, Oulton Park, Snetterton, Cadwell Park and Bedford Autodrome. In 2010, it is now also giving trackday enthusiasts a fun and cost effective route into novice motor racing, through its new Trackday Trophy series.

The competition will be divided into three power-to-weight categories and relaxed car regulations mean a wide array of vehicles up to a maximum 200bhp/ton are eligible for entry.

"We're really pleased with the number of people who are already aware of the Club MSV Trackday Trophy and are keen to sign up," said Alex Baker, Club MSV manager. "Lots of potential competitors visited us at our Autosport International Show stand to register their interest and we should have a really exciting mix of cars for our first event."

The series is aimed at teams of two drivers, although individual entries will be accepted, and each race weekend will consist of a 30 minute practice/qualifying session and a 45 minute race.

The inaugural season will initially feature four rounds, beginning at Brands Hatch on 27 March, but there will also be an opportunity for members to take their ARDS test to gain a National B racing licence on 18 February at Brands Hatch.

If you didn't sign up at the Autosport show, you can register for the Club MSV Trackday Trophy online through the series website.

Series registration costs £50 and each race costs £299 including VAT.
