American Quinlan Lall joins Chris Dittmann Racing for 2016 BRDC F4

Friday, January 15 2016

American racer Quinlan Lall has signed with Chris Dittmann Racing for the 2016 BRDC Formula 4 Championship, it has been announced today (15 January). The 16-year-old tested for the Gloucestershire-based team at Silverstone in October last year and after a successful outing, has committed to a full campaign for the upcoming season.

Lall has raced in the F2000 Championship Series in the United States for the past two seasons, finishing 14th overall in 2014 before improving the next year to finish sixth in the standings with Momentum Motorsports, taking one win and a further podium. Most recently, he competed in the Koiranen-run Winter Junior Challenge held at Jerez and Portimao in December and impressed throughout.

Lall said: "I feel extremely pleased and honoured to be part of the BRDC Formula 4 Championship. It appealed to me specifically because of the new car and the tracks the championship is going to this year. When I worked with Chris and the team at Silverstone we had great chemistry and if we continue our course of development with the new car and our own relationship, then I think we can have a good run at claiming the title."

Chris Dittmann, Team Principal of Chris Dittmann Racing, added: "We're delighted to announce Quinlan as our first confirmed driver for 2016. We carried out a two-day test with him towards the end of last year where he instantly gelled with the whole team. The chemistry was clear to see and I'm sure it's the start of a strong and successful relationship. We were very impressed with his performance over the two days but also his focus and detailed feedback. We have a strong testing package lined up before the first race meeting and I have no doubts with his talent and our support, that he will be a serious championship contender."

The 2016 BRDC Formula 4 season gets underway with the first three races at Snetterton on March 27/28, before taking in legendary circuits such as Brands Hatch, Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps later in the year.
