New season gets underway at Cadwell Park

Tuesday, March 17 2015

A busy year of racing at Cadwell Park gets underway this weekend (21/22 March), with bike racing action from the Auto 66 club kick-starting a packed programme of events at the Lincolnshire circuit. Tickets for all of these are available online in advance from just £10, with free admission for under-13s.

This weekend's action includes the first two rounds of the Count of Cadwell Championship, an open class which visits the Wolds circuit three times throughout the year. A large pack of riders will tackle the venue's famous twists and elevation changes, including the revered Mountain section, after a winter away from the track.

The event will showcase a wide variety of two-wheeled machines throughout the weekend, from lightweight motorcycles to large-capacity, high-performance bikes, and there will also be race for classics and sidecars, both firm favourites with spectators. In addition there's the chance to get close-up to these machines, with an informal paddock encouraging visitors to join in and chat to the riders as they prepare for the opening skirmishes of the year.

Rallying and Modified Live events highlight spring schedule

The spring season continues next weekend (Sunday 29 March) with the Alan Healy Memorial Rally, bringing all of the excitement of the forests to Cadwell Park. Spectators will witness the spectacle of powerslides, Scandinavian flicks and flying finishes, and a huge entry is expected for the event, covering souped-up hatchbacks, classics such as the legendary Ford Escort and rally specials including Subarus and Mitsubishis.

Fans of powerful machinery will love the Modified Live show on Saturday 25 April, which is headlined by the high-octane Time Attack Championship, where drivers of highly-modified cars compete for the fastest lap of the tricky Cadwell Park circuit. There's a classic and retro class as well, with spectacular revisions of old favourites refusing to grow old gracefully!

Also on track will be demonstrations from stunning Formula 1 machinery and visitors can take part in track sessions in their own vehicles too. There will also be car displays, drift demonstrations, stunt shows, competitions and a trade village.

Later this summer the main headlining events will include the new Cadwell Park International Classic, celebrating the world  and personalities of two-wheel motorsport, and the return of the UK's biggest racing series - the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship.

Discounted advance tickets for all 2015 race meetings are now available online and start from £10, with free entry at every event for children under 13. Cadwell Park fans can save even more with circuit owner MSV's range of season passes, including a dedicated Cadwell Park pass which enables access to every event this year for just £89.
