Bennetts BSB race 3: O’Halloran does the double at Donington Park

Sunday, May 22 2022

McAMS Yamaha rider Jason O'Halloran followed up his first win of the season earlier today with his second victory of the day in the final Bennetts BSB race of the weekend at Donington Park.

The Australian started sixth but fought through the field in the early stages, and made a move stick for the lead on Rich OMG Yamaha's Brad Ray at Coppice on lap 17.

From there, he maintained his lead to win by 1.7 seconds over Ray, while Lee Jackson was third for Cheshire Mouldings FS-3 Kawasaki.

Jackson's teammate Rory Skinner beat Rich Energy OMG Yamaha's Kyle Ryde to the line by just 0.034s.

Christian Iddon took sixth for Buildbase Suzuki, with MCE Ducati duo Tom Sykes and Josh Brookes seventh and eighth.

Brookes finished a tenth of a second clear of SYNETIQ BMW's Danny Buchan, while Chrissy Rouse completed the top-10.

O'Halloran's double ensured he claimed the Milwaukee King of Donington trophy, while Ray claimed the Milwaukee Grand Slam trophy for his results across Oulton Park and Donington.

The Bennetts British Superbike Championship heads to Knockhill on 17-19 June with Ray atop the standings with O'Halloran up to second.
