BENNETTS BSB WARM-UP: Aussies lead the way at Cadwell Park

Sunday, August 22 2021

Australian pairing Jason O'Halloran and Josh Brookes mastered the damp conditions in this morning's Bennetts British Superbike Championship warm up at Cadwell Park to set the pace ahead of the two races this afternoon.

Tommy Bridewell initially set the pace at the start of the session before Andrew Irwin moved to the top of the times, before a small crash at the Hairpin ended his warm up prematurely and he later dropped to tenth on the sole SYNETIQ BMW.

Bridewell then climbed back to the top of the order, narrowly ahead of Ryan Vickers and Lee Jackson, before the RAF Regular & Reserve Kawasaki rider jumped up a position to head the times.

A final flurry of faster laps though put O'Halloran on top and 0.315s ahead of reigning champion Brookes with Vickers nudged back to third at the chequered flag.

Bridewell held onto fourth place, marginally ahead of Jackson and Glenn Irwin on the leading Honda. Rory Skinner was seventh after edging out Christian Iddon with Bradley Ray and Andrew Irwin completing the top ten.
