COVID-19: Latest update on MSV activities and events - 11.05.21

Tuesday, May 11 2021

Following the Prime Minister's confirmation than England will proceed to Step 3 of the roadmap (17 May to 21 June), we are able to provide the latest update on MSV's various business areas.

Race events

The specific ban on spectators at sport events will be lifted from 17 May. This means that up to 4,000 visitors per day will be welcome at MSV race events from Saturday 22 May, with a range of COVID-19 safety measures in place as per government guidelines. You can download a summary by clicking here.

Access to all working areas (e.g. paddocks, pit lanes and garages) will be limited to competitors, volunteer officials, marshals and those providing a service at the event, until further notice.

Ticket sales for events due to take place in Step 3 must be purchased in advance to guarantee admission. We do expect a number of events to reach capacity. There is currently no requirement for season or resident pass holders to notify us of their attendance beforehand (as they have been factored into capacity calculations), other than for the BTCC event at Snetterton and the Truck Racing event at Brands Hatch.

A range of physical distancing measures will be in place across the site, including grandstands. You must not attend in a group of more than 30 people. No public camping will be available, unless stated otherwise on the event page.

We anticipate that from 21 June all limits on the number of race event attendees will be removed. The vast majority of our major race meetings are now scheduled to take place after this date.

Please note: this weekend's events (15/16 May) will continue to be run behind closed doors, and only essential personnel may attend.

Season Pass holders

We previously advised that passholders would be entitled to a credit for any loss of entitlement if government restrictions prevented us being able to admit spectators. We will review the effect on season pass holders throughout the season and ensure that this is managed fairly.

Trackdays

Car and bike trackdays resumed operating across the MSV circuits on Monday 29 March. You can find a list of MSV Trackday dates here, and a complete list of events, including third-party operators, here.

A range of safety measures are in place, similar to 2020 events. This means that, until further notice, only participants and one essential helper can attend. No-one else, including spectating friends and family, will be admitted, however this will be kept under rolling review.

Overnight camping is now permitted at all venues (except Donington Park and Bedford Autodrome) for participants and their helpers the night before a trackday or the night between two consecutive trackdays.

Car testing

General testing resumed on 29 March. Click here to visit the full calendar and here to download a PDF summary of safety measures.

Driving experiences

MSV driving experiences (F4 Master, YoungDrive! etc.) resumed operating in April. Any vouchers due to expire during the period of closure have been automatically extended until the end of July. No further action is required.

All voucher holders have been contacted by email with further details. Please email activities@msv.com if you have any queries.

PalmerSport

PalmerSport events will resume from the week commencing Monday 17 May 2021, a little later than originally hoped. For date availability and details on how guests will be kept safe at Bedford Autodrome please visit www.palmersport.com.
