Everything you need to know about BTCC Brands Hatch

Thursday, March 31 2011

If you're coming along to the opening rounds of the 2011 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship this weekend (2/3 April), here is some important information about the event - to help you make the most of your trip to Brands Hatch.

Gate opening times
Public admission to the circuit is from 8am on Saturday and 7am on Sunday.

Southbank Parking
Southbank is available for car parking (not bikes) at a cost of £2 on Saturday and £5 on Sunday.

If you intend to park on Southbank you will need to click on the link at the bottom of the page and download a pass.

Please display the pass in your windscreen to ensure that you are directed to the correct entrance when you arrive at the circuit.

You will need to bring your original tickets to the circuit as copies and receipts are not accepted. All advance tickets have now been dispatched and were sent by either Recorded or Special Delivery, meaning a signature is required.

In the rare instance that your tickets have not arrived in time you will need to purchase them at the gate price and obtain a refund after the event by returning the gate ticket stubs and your original tickets to the venue office.

Please have your tickets separated before arriving at the gate.

Tickets will be available to purchase on the gate at a price of £12 on Saturday and £30 on Sunday for adults, with free entry for children aged 12 and under.

Official event programmes are on sale from the main entrance gates, the Megastore and dedicated programme booths around the site for £5. Each programme features in-depth articles on every series racing this weekend along with entry lists, spotters guides and information on the racing timetable.

Trackside Lounge and Directors' Terrace upgrades
You can watch the action on raceday (Sunday) from a weather-proof suite overlooking the start/finish straight with a Trackside Lounge upgrade available for just £70 per person.

Each suite is equipped with a television and live timing screens, and you will also receive a complimentary lunch, hot beverages in the suite, a grandstand seat and an official event programme.

You can also enjoy elevated raceday viewing from the exclusive Directors Terrace balcony at the heart of the start/finish straight. Upgrades cost £49 and are available from the Megastore.

Pit lane walkabout
A pit lane walkabout and driver autograph session will take place at 9.10am on Sunday. Please arrive at the queuing point next to Paddock Hill Bend grandstand at least 15 minutes early if you wish to take part. Last entry to the pit lane walkabout will be at 9.25am.

Grandstand seats
Grandstand seating is available in Paddock Hill Bend grandstand all weekend and in Desire Wilson and Pit Straight grandstands on Sunday. Tickets cost from £5 and can be purchased from the Megastore opposite the Kentagon restaurant.

The Brands Hatch FunZone will be open on Sunday, featuring a fun fair, free face painting, water zorbing, trampolining, mini JCBs and mini quad bikes.

Off-track entertainment
Go karting courtesy of Buckmore Park is available for those aged 10+ at a cost of £12 for ten minutes, payable at the karting circuit beside the Kentagon restaurant.

There will be a disco in the Kentagon restaurant on Saturday evening.

There are a number of competitions taking place on Sunday, including a childrens card design contest to celebrate mothers day. Visit suite A3 in the Brabham/Stewart building next to the Megastore to take part, and the winning entrant will receive a bunch of flowers for their mum!
