Important update on National Restrictions from 5 November

Monday, November 02 2020

On Saturday evening (31 October) the Prime Minister announced that significant national restrictions will be introduced from Thursday 5 November, for a period of four weeks, to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

Since the announcement, the government has published detailed guidance on these various measures and Motorsport UK, the governing body for four-wheel racing, has clarified what this means for competitive motorsport.

We can now provide the following information on how our various business areas will be impacted during this period:

Event tickets/season passes

All non-elite motorsport has been suspended until 2 December and those event permits have been withdrawn by Motorsport UK. The British Truck Racing and British Touring Car Championships are both exempt and their final 2020 rounds will go ahead, behind closed doors without spectators, at Brands Hatch on 7/8 and 14/15 November respectively. The final round of British F3 will also proceed as planned at Silverstone this weekend (7/8 November).

All affected ticketholders will be entitled to a credit or refund. We will email customers within the next few days with information on how to manage their booking online.

We contacted all 2020 season pass holders on Monday 10 August with details on how we intend to deal with their loss of entitlement, and will provide a further update in due course.

Car and Bike trackdays will not take place from Thursday 5 November until Wednesday 2 December (inclusive). For details on trackdays due to take place prior to Thursday please click here.

If you were booked on to an MSV Trackday (MSVT) event that will not take place, please note a full credit for the booking will be automatically applied to your MSVT account. Given the extraordinary circumstances, credits will have an extended 12-month validity from your original cancelled trackday date(s). The credits are transferable to another name. The credits can be redeemed against any listed MSVT date and can be viewed by logging into your MSVT account.

If you were booked on to another operator's event (e.g. Javelin Trackdays) please visit the organiser's website for more information.

Car Testing

Exclusive and semi-exclusive testing involving professional race teams will go ahead as planned, as will testing ahead of Elite motorsport events. 'General' testing will be suspended from Thursday 5 November until Wednesday 2 December (inclusive).

Driving Experiences

All MSV driving experiences (Race Master, Young Drive! etc.) will be postponed until at least 3 December. Everyone who is booked to attend an MSV driving experience up to and including this date will be able to book a replacement activity in due course. Any vouchers that are due to expire will automatically remain valid until three months after driving experiences resume operating.

If you were booked on to another operator's event (e.g. Everyman Racing) please visit the organiser's website for more information.

The PalmerSport driving event at Bedford Autodrome will not take place from Thursday 5 November until Wednesday 2 December (inclusive). Any affected customers will be contacted directly.
