Snetterton gears up for 2020 with winter improvements

Norfolk's Snetterton circuit has undergone a handful of venue improvements over the winter months, including the replacement of Armco barriers along the Bentley Straight.

The newly installed and realigned barriers along the circuit's iconic back straight have been completed in time for the first track activity of the year.

Other changes for the new season include a pair of new fire trucks, a fast response vehicle and a new recovery truck, ensuring that the circuit will be ready for all eventualities with its' response vehicles.

The venue has also undergone a number of technical improvements to the IT facilities available to race clubs and venue CCTV.

Snetterton circuit manager Jamie Hopper said: "The venue has undergone a range of improvements, where we have focused on helping the race clubs reduce lost time, these include the re-alignment of Armco barriers at one of the quickest points of the circuit which will allow us to 'short cut' vehicle recoveries from circuit, speeding up the process. The other major improvement will be the creation of a new paddock return road which will reduce the amount of time taken for vehicles to vacate the track after the chequered flag, potentially allowing shorter gaps between races. This new roadway will be will be ready for the circuit's first race action of the year - the No Limits Racing Club Bike Championships on 21-22 March.

"We've augmented our vehicle fleet too, so we're brilliantly well prepared for the year ahead and I'm sure all visitors to Snetterton will enjoy everything we have in store for 2020."

The popular Norfolk circuit is set for a bumper 2020 with highlights including the British GT and British F3 Championships on 16-17 May, the Bennetts British Superbike Championship on 19-21 June and the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship on 25-26 July.
