Truck titans set for supersized thrills at Snetterton this weekend

Monday, September 02 2019

The British Truck Racing Championship heads to Snetterton this weekend (7-8 September) for one of the venue's biggest and most popular family events of the year.

Truck racing is one of the most unique spectacles in motorsport - these monster machines are a world away from the HGVs you blast past on the motorway. Don't bother trying to overtake one of these racing behemoths, they accelerate faster than a Porsche 911!

Despite weighing over five tonnes each, racing trucks can reach speeds of 100 miles per hour thanks to their 1,000 horsepower engines, and race with unexpected dexterity! Snetterton lends itself perfectly to truck racing, with long straights allowing them to reach maximum velocity and plenty of challenging corners where all the drama happens, usually accompanied with billowing tyre smoke and power slides!

Visitors to Snetterton will have some of the best views of the action too, thanks to the panoramic viewing banks at several corners, while the flat terrain between them allows for ease of access around the venue.

Seven epic races for Britain's biggest racing category will take place this weekend, with qualifying and three races on Saturday, and four further contests on Sunday including the dramatic grand final on Sunday afternoon.

In one of the circuit's most popular family events, a full racing package not only includes the truck racing, but further contests for Pickup Trucks, the comparatively tiny motorcycle-engined Legends and a number of saloon and sports car contests.

In addition, there will be plenty to keep visitors occupied around the venue, especially on the main Sunday raceday, which will feature a free-of-charge crazy golf course and remote control Land Rovers. Other activities include Mini Monster Trucks and big show truck displays featuring one-off designs and manufacturer specials.

On-track action starts at 9am on both days and continues until just before 6pm. Adult tickets for the main Sunday raceday are available in advance priced at £20 for adults, with free entry all weekend for children aged under 13. Discounts are also available for teenagers aged 13-15. For more information or to book, visit  www.snetterton.co.uk or call 0843 453 9000.
