Cadwell Park raises nearly £2,000 for Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance

Friday, August 06 2010

The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance made a celebratory landing at Cadwell Park this week, to receive a donation of almost two thousand pounds from the Louth circuit towards their life-saving medical service.

Over the past few months, Cadwell Park has been collecting donations for the Air Ambulance within the Clubhouse restaurant during event weekends, as well as contributing money from £5 driving licence checks on its Club MSV trackdays.

The charity fundraising collected £1,961 in total and a team of three Air Ambulance crew members - George Phillips, Alan Payne and Ted Good - flew into the circuit this week to accept the donation from assistant circuit manager Mick Brown.

However, the handover process proved speedier than anticipated, for - in a timely reminder of the valuable service the Air Ambulance offers throughout Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire - the crew were called away to an emergency within minutes of landing at Cadwell Park!

"The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance is delighted to be receiving this latest donation from Cadwell Park and MotorSport Vision," said representative Vivienne Chambers. "The ability to arrive on scene swiftly and perform a rapid transfer into hospital means that we are sometimes called to the circuit to assist, and people who frequent Cadwell Park will recognise what a valuable service is offered by the charity.

"We are dependant on voluntary contributions to continue operating and this latest contribution is a welcome boost to our £1.5 million annual running costs," added Chambers.

"The Air Ambulance provides an extremely valuable service to Cadwell Park and we are pleased to be able to support their worthwhile activities," added assistant circuit manager Mick Brown. "We'd like to thank all our trackday participants and spectators for their donations to our appeal."
