Paul O'Neill re-signs for BTCC in 2010

Wednesday, January 06 2010

Popular Cheshire driver Paul O'Neill will return to the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship in 2010 after re-signing for Tech-Speed.

Widnes-born O'Neill, who is the brother of Spice Girl Mel C, raced a Sunshine.co.uk-backed Honda Integra for the squad in 2009. Despite piloting an older BTC-spec machine, Paul achieved some impressive results - including an emotional podium at Snetterton last August.

However, O'Neill is setting his sights even higher this year. "Last season I had a ball but this year I might not be getting as excited with sixth and seventh places," he revealed in an interview with the official BTCC website. "I want more podiums out of 2010.

"I don't believe many teams will be able to develop their cars much further for this year, whereas we've got a number of engineering tweaks that I know will work," he added.

O'Neill's decision to return to the BTCC follows Tech-Speed's announcement that they may sign a second driver, with the possibility of running a third Honda Integra in the championship as well.

Tickets for the 2010 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch, Oulton Park and Snetterton are now on sale from £24. Entry is free for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0870 950 9000 or click on the link below.
