Fortec's Nikolas Taylor claimed his second victory of the weekend with a controlled drive in race two at Silverstone. The Anglo-Malaysian started third on the grid but claimed the lead on the first lap and didn't look back from there.

He finished 1.3 seconds ahead of main championship rival Max Marzorati, who started on pole position. Jarrod Waberski meanwhile made up for his race one disappointment by passing teammate Tom Mills on the final corner of the last lap to steal the final spot on the podium.

Mills therefore had to settle for fourth ahead of Hillspeed's Megan Gilkes who had started on the front row and dropped to sixth on the first lap, but fought back to fifth.

Jack Sherwood was another to lose ground, but was firmly involved in a number of entertaining scraps on his way to sixth for Elite Motorsport, ahead of Graham Brunton Racing's Logan Hannah.

Fortec's Jessica Edgar took eighth, less than half a second ahead of Hillspeed's Marcus Short while Christian Lester had perhaps his most competitive showing of the year on his way to 10th, but more than held his own in the midfield for much of the nine lap contest, finishing half a second ahead of the second GBR machine of Chloe Grant.

Marzorati made a good start from pole position to lead the pack down to Copse corner, while Taylor got a jump on Gilkes and went around the outside of the first corner to take second place. From there he entered the slipstream of Marzorati and cut to the inside at Stowe to take the lead.

From there, Taylor was able to get himself out of the slipstream and build a reasonably comfortable gap to Marzorati, who in turn was clear of the battle between the two Kevin Mills Racing cars.

Mills held third place for almost the entire race, despite Waberski's constant pressure, but starting the last lap, there was less than half a second separating the pair. Waberski made a first attempt at Stowe with Mills fending him off, but the South African tried again with a good exit from the Loop. He drew alongside his teammate down the Wellington Straight, went around the outside of Brooklands and made the move stick at Luffield after a bounce across the kerbs, with Mills going wide through the final corner. The pair were separated by just one tenth of a second at the flag.

The final race of the weekend, the reverse grid contest, is due to commence at 16.05.
