Classic Sports Car Club races into the night this weekend

Monday, October 21 2019

The Classic Sports Car Club will bringi plenty of action to the National circuit . There will be plenty of entertainment across the two days with highlights including races going into the dark of night.

Competing series include the popular Swinging Sixties, a racing category catering for a mixture of sports, saloon and GT cars. With just four simple eligibility rules regarding tyres, induction type, silhouette and original engine type, the series boasts large grids with vehicles ranging from original Minis to Datsun 240Zs.

The Classic K series caters for pre-1966 GT and touring cars running to Appendix K regulations, with cars split across seven classes. Each race weekend consists of a 30-minute qualifying session and a one-hour endurance race featuring a mandatory pit stop.

Running since 2006 the Future Classics series brings cars from the 1970s and 1980s to the track with races lasting 40 minutes in length. Expect to see Porsches to Nissan GT-Rs in this category, plus everything in between!

More modern machinery can be found within the New Millennium series with vehicles made after the year 2000. Cars deemed to be "within the spirit of regulations" are permitted to compete, allowing owners to modify their cars to help enhance drivability. Such regulations allow the permitting of non-standard aero dynamic parts and sequential gearboxes resulting in some truly fierce machinery.

Also competing this weekend includes the Modern Classics, Magnificent Sevens, Tin Tops, Turbo Tin Tops, Puma Cup and Smart 4Two Cup. The paddock will be open for this event allowing spectators the chance to get up close to the race cars as they're prepared for competition.

Tickets for the CSCC 'Into the Night' race at Donington Park (26-27 October) are available online for just £12 until midday 23 October, or on the gate for £16 with free entry for children under 13. For more information, please call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
