Hitech GP's Luke Browning saved his best until last as he set the fastest time of the week in the final Friday GB3 Championship test session at Snetterton.

There was a battle inside the final eight minutes of the session, as Browning was the first contender to post a time better than Matthew Rees' session one effort form yesterday, only for championship leader Joel Granfors to go three hundredths of a second faster four minutes later.

But Browning found a final fraction of time with 90 seconds of the session remaining to go 0.129s quicker than Granfors with the best time of the week.

Behind the top two, things were again very close as just 0.027s covered the next four drivers. Carlin's Javier Sagrera enjoyed his best session of the week and was third fastest, 0.018s ahead of previous pace-setter Rees in his JHR machine.

Sagrera's teammate Roberto Faria was one thousandth of a second further back in fifth, and 0.009s clear of Elite Motorsport's local driver Tom Lebbon.

Marcos Flack was a tenth of a second further back for Douglas Motorsport, and 0.041s ahead of Chris Dittmann Racing's Branden Oxley in eighth, who was also higher up the order than at any other point this week.

Callum Voisin was 0.073s behind for Carlin, and 0.040s clear of Flack's teammate Max Esterson, who completed the top-10, which was covered by six tenths of a second.

The top-17 runners were within a second of Browning's best pace, with the field now preparing for tomorrow morning's qualifying session, which is scheduled for 10.40.
