Keen and Balon fastest again in Donington Decider practice

Saturday, September 14 2019

Phil Keen and Adam Balon's Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO topped a second British GT Championship free practice session in a row this afternoon, after marginally improving this morning's effort to lap the full Donington Park Grand Prix circuit in 1m27.655s.

As in this morning's session, the leading Lamborghini led the way from the McLaren 720S of Shaun Balfe and Rob Bell. Third went to the Ian Loggie and Callum Macleod this time though, as they improved upon fourth from the opening session in their Mercedes-AMG GT3.

Mark Farmer and Nicki Thiim were fourth fastest, following two promising practice sessions in their Aston Martin V8 Vantage, just ahead of the BMW M6 of Dominc Paul and Ben Green.

Graham Davidson and Jonny Adam are the closest challengers in the points standings to leaders Balon and Keen, but were only able to set the 11th fastest time in the final practice session ahead of this afternoon's crucial qualifying periods.

Balon and Keen's team-mates Sam De Haan and Jonny Cocker will be keen to improve later on too, after setting just the 13th time as they attempt to wrest the championship from the sister Lamborghini.

In the GT4 class, it was Ash Hand and Tom Canning that led the way, eding out earlier pace-setters Seb Priaulx and Scott Maxwell.
