JHR Developments joins the BRDC British F3 Championship

Wednesday, November 21 2018

JHR Developments, regular front-runners in British F4 and multiple champions in sports car racing, has confirmed that it will join the BRDC British F3 Championship for 2019.

Formed over 20 years ago, the Dronfield-based team, run by Steven Hunter, has enjoyed championship-winning success in almost every discipline it has entered, and most recently ran Ayrton Simmons to second place in this year's British F4 campaign, in which the team also fielded Manuel Sulaiman and Josh Skelton.

In the three years that JHR has run a full F4 campaign, they have finished in the top three of the driver's and team's championships, with two years as runner-up. The team will continue its F4 operation alongside its new British F3 campaign, offering a logical graduation path for drivers as they climb the ranks.

Synonymous with success on the 'TOCA' package which supports the British Touring Car Championship, having competed on it since it began, JHR Developments has won more races and championships than any other team on the bill, and since 2015 it has taken an impressive 12 wins and 28 podiums in the F4 British Championship.

With multiple titles to its name, the team now moves up to BRDC British F3 and has purchased two Tatuus-Cosworth cars ahead of its series debut next year.

"We're very happy to be joining the BRDC British F3 Championship," said Team Principal Steven Hunter, "It is a strong Championship which runs on an impressive package and is exceptionally well organised. We've travelled to a few meetings this year and have been very impressed with not only the Championship itself but also the way that it has been put together.

"We are currently utilising our bespoke, in-house simulator which mirrors the on-track performance of the cars, so drivers will be able to gain knowledge and develop their skills in conjunction with a comprehensive on track test program."

JHR Developments is already in discussion with several competitors about the 2019 season and will make announcements in due course.
