One month to go until the British GT Donington Decider!

Wednesday, August 22 2018

There's just a month to go until the deciding round of this year's British GT Championship at Donington Park on 22-23 September.

Britain's premier sports car championship has once again delivered the goods this season, and multiple teams head into the round with a chance of claiming the title.

At present, four teams could win the main GT3 category, featuring two Aston Martin squads and entries from Lamborghini and Mercedes. History could be made too, with Flick Haigh currently leading the championship alongside co-driver Jonny Adam, and seemingly on course to become the first female to win the main British GT category at the wheel of her V12 Aston Martin.

The GT4 section is also totally up for grabs - an incredible five teams can claim this category, with Aston Martin, McLaren, Ginetta and BMW all in with a chance.

Previous Donington deciders for the series have thrown up incredible drama, with pre-race favourites regularly hitting trouble, massive swings in fortune, and surprise winners. With a two-hour race to look forward to on Sunday afternoon, there's bound to be tension aplenty as teams mix strategy, speed and most importantly, luck, in order to come out on top!

And there's not just British GT to look forward to either. It's also a potentially decisive round for the single-seater stars of the BRDC British F3 Championship, with Swedish driver Linus Lundqvist on course to claim the title should he extend his series lead by a handful of points. Other talking points here include the return of Billy Monger to Donington, 17 months since his life changing accident, while local man Tom Gamble (Nottingham) will be aiming to add to his two wins in his maiden single-seater campaign.

With further support races to look forward to including Ginetta sports cars, MINI Challenge and the BRSCC Saloon and Sportscar Trophy, there's plenty of action to be served up on track.

Off track, there will be large supercar displays with many beautiful, rare and exotic machines expected to be on show throughout Sunday.

Tickets for the British GT Championship Donington decider on 22-23 September are available in advance until midday on Thursday 20 September. Tickets are priced from £20 for adults, with free entry for children aged under-13, and discounts for teenagers aged 13-15. For more information and to book, click here.
