Brands Hatch racing season springs into life with BMCRC this weekend

Monday, March 05 2018

The British Motorcycle Racing Club kick-starts the 2018 racing season at Brands Hatch this weekend (10/11 March) with a plethora of two and three-wheeled classes taking on the Indy circuit.

It's the club's first event of the season, so expect a packed timetable filled with riders raring to go. Races are scheduled for a huge variety of classes, including Blue Haze 2-Strokes, BMCRC Thunderbike Extreme and Sport, Chilton Motors BMZRC 250 MZ, DFDS Yamaha Past Masters, L&W Contractors Rookie 600 and 1000, MRO Minitwins and Minitwin Rookies, Reactive Parts MRO Powerbikes, RKBF1/BMCRC F1 and F2 Sidecars, Team Green Junior Cup/Senior 300 Series and Team Respro MRO 600.

Bike fans will love the sound of the extremely rapid Powerbikes class, which is open to all 1000cc machines, including stock and heavily modified bikes. The series runs to open regulations, meaning that a wide variety of clever engineering solutions are allowed, and these bikes should be stunning to watch as the riders fight to restrain them on the tight confines of the Indy circuit.

Other classes to look out for include the Team Respro MRO 600 for Superstock and Supersport machines, plus Rookie 600 and the retro Yamaha Past Masters.

Adding to the variety of machines on track this weekend will be the RKB-BMCRC F1 & F2 Sidecars. The sight of riding passengers performing acrobatic feats as they struggle to keep the machines in contact with the tarmac, added to racing every bit as intense as the two-wheeled classes makes this a thrilling spectacle.

The paddock will also be open to allow spectators to come in and sample the same atmosphere as the teams and riders as well as get a closer look at race machines in preparation.

Tickets for the BMCRC Club Bike Championships at Brands Hatch (10/11 March) are available in advance for £12 until midday Wednesday 7 March and thereafter on the gate from £16 with free entry for under-13s. For more information, please call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
