MSVT sweeps up the awards at ASI 2017

Wednesday, January 18 2017

MSV's in-house trackday organising division, MSVT, received plenty of recognition earlier this month, by receiving a brace of Motorsport Days awards at the recent Autosport International Show in Birmingham. This included the UK Amateur Championship award, which was bestowed upon the hugely popular MSVT Trackday Championship (TDC), following its enormously successful debut season in 2016.

The UK Amateur Championship award takes into account the driving standards, grid sizes, budgetary requirements, and much more to shine the spotlight on the very best of the hundreds of club-level car racing championships available in the UK. TDC was chosen for this award as it presents a cost effective route into regular motorsport in a championship which offers its competitors a fair, fun playing field in which to compete, with a friendly paddock.

TDC got off to the perfect start in 2016 with a healthy grid size - one of the largest average entries in UK motor racing - and a culture of clean and close racing.

Motorsport Days, director Ben Whibley presented the award in Birmingham, praising MSVT's efforts for creating an "appealing championship for all levels of competitive racing driver."

Additionally, MSVT Trackday Trophy Coordinator Stuart Garland received his own award: Unsung Hero. Stuart received his award to recognise the hard work he puts in behind the scenes to ensure the continued success of TDC as well as its sister series, Trackday Trophy, both of which aim to mould inexperienced racers into proven competitors.

MSV's Snetterton circuit was also recognised by Motorsport Days with the MSD UK/European Circuit award.
