MCE BSB polesitter Ellison leads raceday warm-up at Brands Hatch

Monday, April 17 2017

James Ellison maintained his position at the top of the times in this morning's (Monday) MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship warm up session at Brands Hatch, firing the McAMS Yamaha ahead of Shane 'Shakey' Byrne and Leon Haslam ahead of race one.

Ellison set a blistering pace yesterday to claim the pole position and he held off the challenges from Byrne, who had missed the opening ten minutes of the session as the Be Wiser Ducati team worked to fix an issue. The defending champion moved into the top five instantly and then kept Haslam behind him.

Jason O'Halloran had a strong warm up session for Honda Racing, holding fourth place ahead of an improving Sylvain Guintoli on the Bennetts Suzuki and Josh Brookes on the Anvil Hire TAG Yamaha.

Luke Mossey will start second on the grid today and he finished warm up in seventh position ahead  of Tommy Bridewell, Glenn Irwin and Christian Iddon who completed the top ten.
