Truckload of family fun at Brands Hatch this Easter

Friday, February 19 2016

A bumper weekend of holiday fun is set to entertain all of the family at Brands Hatch this Easter (26-28 March), with the opening rounds of the British Truck Racing Championship the main attraction.

The giants of motorsport will be in action with up to ten thrilling races for the 1,000 horsepower five-tonne beasts and the first races of the new season will also feature new faces with some familiar names in new trucks. All of them will be aiming to beat Division 1 champion Mat Summerfield, who will be gunning to win his fifth title in a row, so expect plenty of bumping and barging on the Indy circuit!

The event also includes a huge programme of support races, bringing the best of British motorsport to Kent. Races include NASCAR-style Pickup Truck Racing Championship and Legends Cars Championship for miniature 1930s US Hot Rod replicas, and there are also saloon races for Cannons Tin Tops and Motorsport News Saloons.

The excitement continues off the track, with a feast of family entertainment set to appeal to all ages. The trucking theme includes a huge display of no fewer than 100 pristine show trucks along Colin Chapman Way, which will also be taking part in a track parade. You can also see the racing trucks close-up with a VIP-style gridwalk before one of the races on Easter Monday.

There's even the chance to get in the thick of the racing action, as the Brands Hatch mini-Indy karting circuit will be open where you can challenge friends and family to a race of your own. Plus there will be an assortment of fairground rides in the Brands Hatch Fun Zone.

Adrenaline junkies will also thrill at the sight of the Swamp Thing Monster Truck unleashing its power on Easter Monday, and if that leaves you wanting more, you can jump on board the Red Dragon truck for the ultimate joyride. Younger fans can even have a go with Mini Monster Truck Mania allowing them to experience driving real mini monster trucks around a dedicated course!

Younger racegoers can also enjoy the free Kidspace tent with children's entertainers and activities, plus face painting in return for a £1 donation to Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance Trust. There's also a soft play tent for the youngest fans, and the Brands Hatch adventure playground will be open all weekend.

Tickets to Easter Truck Racing at Brands Hatch are available from £19 with free entry to under-13s and a special teen rate for 13-15 year-olds. For more information call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
