Fireworks on and off the track at Brands Hatch this November!

Wednesday, October 28 2015

Families can enjoy a weekend of explosive action at Brands Hatch on 7/8 November, with Truck Racing and Fireworks headlining a bumper package of thrilling entertainment for all ages on and off the track at the Kent venue.

Topping the bill on the circuit is the British Truck Racing Championship, with two champions set to be crowned on the Indy circuit. The five-tonne machines race at up to 100mph and with reverse-grids, and plenty of bumping and barging, thrills and spills are guaranteed in each of the weekend's five races, three of which take place on the Sunday.

The grids are split into two divisions and in the fastest class, ten-time champion Stuart Oliver goes head-to-head with reigning champion Mat Summerfield for the 2015 title. Just two points separate the pair, whilst West Kingsdown's Steven Powell is in pole position to be crowned king of Division Two at his home circuit.

The trucks are supported by a 15-race programme that includes close US NASCAR-style racing from the Pickup Truck Racing Championship and the pint-sized Legends Cars, which resemble American hot-rods from the 1930s. There will also be non-stop action from the Kent-based Motorsport News Saloon Championship, Tin Tops Championship and Intermarque Championship for a range of saloons and sportscars.

Racing gets underway on the Saturday, but there's even more entertainment off-track on the Sunday, with plenty of fun for all of the family. A traditional fairground with a Ferris Wheel, Dodgems, Helter Skelter and side stalls will provide a carnival atmosphere, whilst children of all ages will find something to enjoy in the Kidspace Marquee that features children's entertainers, fire breathers, bubble performances and a balloon modeller, plus a range of activities and face painting. Younger children will have their own Junior Kidspace Marquee which includes soft play, Punch and Judy shows and children's movies.

Thrill-seekers can take a ride on the Red Dragon Monster Truck or race a go-kart, whilst 11-17 year-olds can get behind the wheel of a YoungDrive MINI with taster sessions around a special course.

There will also be a huge display of show trucks throughout the weekend, and these will take to the track after the final race on the Sunday evening. The parade will be followed by a spectacular show-stopping fireworks display that will light up the night sky at approximately 5pm.

Tickets for Truck Racing and Fireworks at Brands Hatch on 7/8 November are on sale from £18, or £10 for 13-15 year-olds, with free entry to under-13s. For more information call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
