MCE BSB's Walker looks forward to the International Classic

Tuesday, July 21 2015

MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship veteran Chris 'Stalker' Walker is looking forward to this weekend's (25/26 July) Cadwell Park International Classic, where he will ride a Manx Norton during Sunday's track parade.

Walker's British Superbike career began in the late 1990s, and after bad luck robbed him of the 2000 title, he raced at Grand Prix and World Superbike level. Returning to domestic competition at the end of the decade, he has been a BSB regular, scoring a popular win in 2012, and currently rides for Tommy Hill's Be Wiser Kawasaki squad.

Walker will join a host of stars for the event parades, including Giacomo Agostini, Phil Read and Jim Redman, and will be taking part in an interview on the main stage during Sunday.

Speaking ahead of the event, Walker said: "I think I have been invited as I am a classic now - that's why they call me 'old but gold'!

"I am really looking forward to it and doing some laps on a Manx Norton during the parade - it has been a dream of mine for many years, so to have the chance at Cadwell Park is fantastic. I can't wait and I am excited about it already, there is a real buzz about the event and loads of people I have bumped into have been talking about it, so it should be a great atmosphere.

"I am thrilled to be a part of it, especially as Cadwell Park is like a second home circuit to me now as I only live 40 minutes away."

Tickets for the Cadwell Park International Classic are available from £15, with free entry for children under 13. For more information call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
