Sieljes returns to Formula 4 with Chris Dittmann Racing

Friday, April 24 2015

Dutchman Paul Sieljes will return to the Duo BRDC Formula 4 Championship for the second round of the season at Rockingham with Chris Dittmann Racing.

The 21-year-old competed in the final round of the 2014 Winter Series at Brands Hatch last year, claiming a best finish of fourth place on the Indy circuit. He is currently racing in the 2015 Dutch Supercar Challenge but will make a one-off appearance in Formula 4 at Northamptonshire's Rockingham Motor Speedway on May 2/3.

The Gloucestershire-based team has already confirmed Omar Ismail as its second driver from the third round at Silverstone onwards, when the youngster turns 16 and is eligible to race in the championship. The squad's other driver, Tom Jackson, enjoyed a successful opening weekend of the year at Oulton Park, taking two fourth-place finishes, and he currently lies third in the overall standings.

Sieljes has experience in other single-seater series having competed in Formula Renault 1.6 NEC over the last two years, ending the 2014 season in ninth overall with a best finish of seventh and one pole position.

Paul Sieljes said: "The Winter Championship at Brands Hatch was one of the best experiences in my racing career so far. We were quick throughout the weekend but a little unfortunate in the races. Given that experience, I think we can be very competitive at Rockingham, although I've never been there. The team has shown its potential with Tom Jackson's performances in the opening round at Oulton Park and I hope to learn from him and follow him on the road to success."

Team Principal Chris Dittmann added: "It's great to have Paul back in our F4 car again after a really strong Winter Series weekend last year. He fitted into the team extremely well and showed some very impressive pace. Although he has never driven at Rockingham before, I am confident that with his level head and our strong coaching team, that it won't take him long to get back up to speed."
