Bridewell ready to enter Yamaha territory at Oulton Park

Monday, April 28 2014

Tommy Bridewell has declared he is ready for a resurgence at Oulton Park this Bank Holiday weekend (3/4/5 May) for the second round of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship as the Milwaukee Yamaha bids to close back in on a podium finish.

Bridewell scored two top ten finishes at the opening round on the Brands Hatch Indy circuit, but believes he will be in a position to turn it around this weekend and move up the order as he targets a podium return in Cheshire. The Oulton Park circuit has traditionally been one of the stronger tracks on the calendar for the Yamaha team and the Devizes rider has high hopes for the two races on Bank Holiday Monday.

Bridewell said: "Brands Hatch wasn't an ideal start for me but we have had the chance to reflect on that now and we have looked at all the angles ready for Oulton Park. If you look at previous years and who won the title eventually the results at the first round didn't affect their championship. I feel better about Oulton Park and I look at the success the team have had there previously and that is a huge positive for us before we get started. The first round didn't go as well as I had hoped but Oulton Park is more a territory that should be good for us; we are ready to fight at the front this weekend."
