Lowes: I want to stop Shakey at Snetterton

Friday, June 28 2013

Alex Lowes edged out Shane 'Shakey' Byrne at the official test at Snetterton and as the next round of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship beckons at the Norfolk circuit (5/6/7 July) the Samsung Honda rider has his sights firmly set on halting his rival's winning streak.

Lowes was victorious at Oulton Park and this season has only failed to finish on the podium at the Knockhill round of the Championship. Lowes admits that the Scottish circuit is his Achilles heel of tracks on the calendar and the young pretender is now ready and armed to fight for podiums next weekend.

Lowes said: "The season has been going well so far and I am enjoying racing more than ever at the moment. The Samsung Honda guys have all been working hard and we had a positive test at Snetterton which means we can arrive for the race ready to go as we did a good race simulation. I made a mistake at Knockhill but we got a fourth place in the second race and if that is classed as a bad weekend I will take that, because Knockhill has always been my bogey circuit. I am feeling good, the team are working well and hopefully we can move forward and fight for the wins as I want to stop Shakey!"
