MSV unveils bumper 2013 race calendar

Wednesday, February 20 2013

Over 120 race events feature on the 2013 MSV calendar, with action almost every weekend from March until November! Tickets are now on sale for every meeting, starting at just £10, with free entry for children aged 12 and under.

Big crowds are expected for the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship that will visit all four MSV circuits over seven occasions in 2013. Triple champions Shane 'Shakey' Byrne and Ryuichi Kiyonari will go head-to-head in 'the war for four' BSB titles.

Touring Car fans can look forward to the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, which visits Brands Hatch for its opening and closing rounds, plus Oulton Park and Snetterton during the summer. In the strongest field for years, newly-crowned Gordon Shedden will face old rivals Matt Neal and Jason Plato, plus returning champion Colin Turkington.

More tin-top action can be found in the DTM German Touring Cars, which visits Brands Hatch on 18/19 May. Exotic machinery can also be found in the British GT Championship that will race at Oulton Park and Snetterton as well as Brands Hatch, and there will be plenty of power on display at the Modified Live events, also scheduled for Snetterton, Oulton Park and Brands Hatch.

The next generation of superstars are set to entertain spectators in the brand new MSV-run BRDC Formula 4 Championship at Brands Hatch, Oulton Park and Snetterton. Meanwhile the spectacular Delphi British Truck Racing Championship returns to Snetterton in August, between April and November rounds at Brands Hatch, the latter ending with a major firework display.

Several festivals will take place at the Kent circuit in 2013, including the Aston Martin Centenary Meeting on 6/7 July, which celebrates 100 years of the iconic marque. New for this year is the American SpeedFest, which brings the exciting sport of NASCAR racing to the UK on 9 June. The popular Mini and Lotus festivals return on 22/23 June and 24/25 August respectively, along with the Masters Historic Festival on 25-27 May.

Oulton Park celebrates its 60th anniversary this year and a birthday party is planned for the annual Gold Cup meeting, which is synonymous with the revered venue and was first held in 1954. A similar atmosphere will be found at the CarFest North event, organised by TV and Radio personality and renowned petrolhead Chris Evans in aid of Children in Need, and tickets for this sold out within days. The return of the famous pit straight bridge will also improve spectator access at the venue.

Snetterton's highlights include the MSA British Superkart Grand Prix again on 13/14 July, and the Vintage Festival on 29 September. Meanwhile nostalgia fans will have four superb events to look forward to at Cadwell Park, with the HSCC Wolds Trophy on 20/21 April, Vintage Festival on 8 June, Classic Racing Motorcycle Club on 15/16 June, and The Vintage Motorcycle Club on 28/29 September. Access to the Linconshire circuit will be better than ever, with a new footbridge linking the pit straight with the popular Mountain section.

In addition to these headline events, the circuits will host packed programmes of club racing week-in, week-out. A huge variety of cars and bikes, both old and new, can be found at these events and a full calendar can be viewed by clicking here.
